 April 1st

I had a phone call from First Contact Physio from my Doctors today. I told them what problems I have bean having with my knee. She said the answer might be a STEROID INJECTION into it. I said I was having one in my wrist on the 19th of this month. She said I would have to wait around three weeks as too much STEROID can have bad side effects. I am to ring them in around three weeks time, as long as everything is settled and no side effects from injection. The last STEROID injection I had, rose my blood pressure and so nearly put me in hospital. June 19th 2019.

2nd

My friend Jenny is here today, and we are going to have an outing for a cup of tea/coffee at the Range store and a look round the place. A very nice change and I enjoyed it. Thank you Jenny. 

3rd

Pilates this week I did not really enjoy I felt very tired. I feel like I am getting a cold or something.

4th

Paul is away for the weekend so just me and Andrew, plus Luna of course. I feel very snuffly today and headache. Later all my muscles hurt as well. Andrew and I watched a film in the front room. Paul was not in it like he usually is, so we were able to be in there. A good film- be for black people were excepted. Watched half, the rest tomorrow.

5th

Cleaning up today or trying to, not feeling the best. Throat sore, cough, ear ache a lot of pain everywhere. Later Andrew and I had a small Chinese. Not bad, but throat a bit sore and coughing a lot, sort of ruined it. Watched rest of film- very good.

6th

Did the ironing that needed to be done and not much else. My head is pounding hot cold and just not good. My chest is making noises and my throat is crackling.

Paul is back today mid afternoon or thereabouts. When Paul got back he did not feel well either, pretty much the same thing as me. Going to be cold tonight 1C so might be a frost.

8th

Still not good, razor blade feel in my throat and terrible head still, I ache everywhere. I think this is one of the many viruses going around. Resting and just trying to keep warm as I feel so cold, but have a temperature.

10th

Obviously, no Pilates today I would not be able to stop coughing long enough, still bad head and cold hot all the time. I feel so weak as well. Luna has bean out everyday for a shorter walk so she has not missed out. Even though while on the common I did not feel well.  One of my friends Phil said do not go too far that way towards the crematorium, I said why ? He said you might not get away as you look like death warmed up. He said I looked terrible. 

12th

Cleaned up down stairs today even though it took a lot of my effort. I have not got much appetite at the moment. My throat is so sore, and as soon as I eat the coughing starts and does not know when to stop.

We had Chinese for tea even though I was not bothered, I did eat more than I thought I would.

13th

My right hip is very sore it's usually the left one that plays up. That hurts as well but not as much. I think it could be all down to this virus. I have started knitting some little Izzy Dolls. These are given to children in war zones, by the soldiers to comfort them. Very easy to make just a oblong then stitch it up and make hands and leg by stitching down. Only around thirty stitches as well. I have done a bit more of Pams blanket. 

14th

Still not feeling the best but going out with Luna I think helps, as in the fresh air. A few more people have said I do not look well. Sometimes I feel better, and then its as if the virus says not done with you yet and I feel bad again. Still coughing, not a bad cough just an annoying one, quite dizzy too. I still do not feel like eating much either. Andrew now has this virus now. He is suffering as well, just about the same symptoms I have. 

16th

I used a NEBULISER in the morning to see if that will help my chest and cough. I think it did a bit, but soon wore off, made me feel very shaky.  Night time I used it again and I think it helped more this time. 

Hip pain not good, a sharp pain going down both legs.

18th

Resting to day as not good, cough-cough all the time. So just a bit of knitting but wrist feels sore today. Tomorrow I have my injection into it.

I do feel as this virus will take a bit of getting rid of. Andrew still not the best either. He can not afford to lose any weight as he is so skinny. Paul is getting over his now. 

19th

Injection day for my wrist. The LIDOCAINE injection really hurt but when that took hold the STEROID injection went well. The Doctor who injected me used ULTRASOUND to get the best position.  Sore for rest of day but not as bad as I thought it would be. I have to rest for a few days as the STEROID injection can cause problems. Night time was painful but bearable. I have a chart to fill in to show my pain levels for the next two weeks.

20th

I have started knitting Corey James a jacket from a pattern I love to do. Wrist not too bad a bit swollen and bruised. Still less pain than I thought it would be. 

23rd

Cleaning up down stairs today. Doing a bit, then having a rest. I got most done but did have visitors. My Daughter Lindsay bought Selena a friend round to see me. She has bean in hospital very ill for a while. She had three operations and was in a bad way, a twisted bowel. She is doing well now and I am so pleased for her.

24th

Scan today for my spine and neck. Went very well, but so cold in the scan room, only had on a gown and pants.This is a new place and all the machine are new and shiny. I had earplugs and headphones, plus a pair of goggles to see the video. I had my legs up on a V type wedge similar to a DEXTER SCAN position. This pulled my back quite a bit and felt quite sore towards the end of scan. The scan took quite a while but was not too bad. A voice kept telling me- scan one, five minutes- scan two, four minutes and so on. This went on till all scans were done. The video with music as well, pandas playing and eating bamboo. Very sweet, but was on a loop so I saw the same bit over and over again. At least it took my ears and brain away from the scan noise which is was still quite loud.  

The fair is here for the next four days, usually it rains but this time I do not think it will.

26th

I gave Luna a bath to freshen her up after being in season for the last three weeks. She seemed to enjoy her bath as well. Towel dried then finished off with the hairdryer which she likes.

I sorted out the big cupboard near the back door, just the bottom shelf and the floor. This is a big cupboard and I would be lost without it as it holds so much.    

27th

As promised- pictures of hat sets for the war children.

I have bean given more wool to start another lot as well. These will be started at a later date as doing other knitting. I will have plenty of time to do another lot, as not being picked up till end of September. I have finished knitting Pam's blanket. Just need to tidy up the edges and sew in the ends. Picture next month.

Picture of the Izzy Dolls- I have made so far. These will go to Oxfam  for the children. I will be making more at a later date. These little doll are good for using up scraps of wool as only five to six inches high. They do not take long to knit, but twice as long to sew up, features, and stuff.

I think they are very cute.

A windy dry sunny day washed all the bedding, dried very well. Temperature got to 22C felt very warm in our garden which is south facing. I pulled my chest/rib cage by over stretching feels quite sore.  

29th

Cleaning up today but taking it steady as chest hurts. Doing a bit and having a rest then some more. Very tired later on.

30th

Paul has organised a trip to the Guildhall in Lincoln, this is somewhere I have wanted to visit for a while. The tours they do, are not on very often as a lot of things go on there. I enjoyed the visit and learned quite a bit about the Guildhall and other parts of Lincoln.

A lot of this month I have bean ill so not too much to report. Still Luna went out every day so it did not affect her at all. Even though at times I felt real bad and dizzy. Most of my friends this week, said I did not look good then, but a lot better now. Like  Phil said-- death warmed up. Well all the best to you all hope things are good with you all.

March 1st 

I am looking after Smudge Andy's cat , as he is away a few days. He brought me some roses for looking after him.

Geese, I said a bit back (5th Feb) are still on the common so there is chance of them having their family on the lake. There is also two more on the other lake so there might be two lots of chicks. That's if they stay here. I have finished my February's blog and published it. Bit more knitting another hat done and mitts started. 

I twisted my knee on the common coming down the slope, hurts quite a bit now.  

2nd

I made a new cushion cover for Luna's basket. I was going to cover the sides but changed my mind. Looks good I think, and Luna likes it, so does Sheepie pictured- Luna's Bedtime toy.

 Smudge is fine- most of the time asleep on his scratch post bed bit. Eating his food and pleased to see me. Andy is back tomorrow.

March 4th

B12 to day Oh no, I forgot, I did not attend my appointment. I felt so bad. I am one of those people that gets mad when people miss appointments and I did the same. I Phoned up and the receptionist was very nice and made me another appointment  for Thursday. I have my B12s eight weeks apart now instead of twelve. Knee is quite sore and stiff today.

5th

A lovely day windy, cold but sunny. Luna had two walks, one me and one with Andrew and I plus Andy from across the road tagged along. 

A bit more knitting, mitts this time going well and getting quite a bit done. I had to wash all our bedding as Luna had bean on the bed and left little paw prints. Dried well all ready for ironing now. 

6th

Had B12 went ok a bit sore but that's  normal. Went to Pilates after, good session did a lot with the small Pilates ball. This looks like a tumble dryer ball. 

Jay-Jay's Birthday today- 21 years old. Happy Birthday to you. Hope the rest of your life goes well, as  there are three of you now. Molly your girlfriend and Corey-James your son, nearly two.

Everyone is here for a Chinese tea. Not Tommy-Lee or Kira as not well. Get well soon both of you. 

Corey was playing with the cooking set that his Dad and Uncle Tommy-Lee, and Aunty Jamie-Lee used to play with. Even their little aprons are still here. I did change Tommy-Lee's initials to Jamie-Lee's for her to wear. I am going to make Corey an apron soon. Cory played with bricks and the big red play bus.

We all had tea very good too, not quite as good as our own take away but that is closed till 15th March.

7th

Luna was playing with another dog chasing each other and having great fun. A warm day nearly warmer than some Summers days we have had.

Andy came around with a cat basket for me to mend for Smudge his Cat. Mended it and took it back to him. He said Smudge loves it and spends a lot of time in it. Cut out the apron for Cory. Will machine tomorrow hopefully.  

8th

Bit chilly to start with but soon warmed up. Made Corey-James his apron on the sewing machine, did not go the best, fingers like bananas today. I got it done and I am going to wash it with the other two, Jay-Jay's and Jamie-Lee's.

9th

Paul and I made a stew for tea with dumplings very good it was too. Even some left for another day. Cleaning up and a bit more knitting.

March 12th

Well what a day--Quite a cold one, only 3C. Went to the common as usual, up the slope across to the lakes. Some people call these the ponds. I usually let Luna decided where we go and I follow her. We went in front of the second lake and I saw it was muddy with big deep puddles. So we veered through a gap in front of it. Not a good move, as I started to sink, slowly to begin with, but sinking I was. I tried to pull my feet out but no- I was sinking in further. The bit around the edge we went on looked dry and crusty, and not sinister at all, not really that wet, even in the middle. We have had a few  sunny days so things have dried up quite a bit. I tried again to pull my feet and legs out but sank even further. Nearly up to my knee on right leg and more than half way up on left. I shouted but no one heard. If I moved I slipped down further. The red Arrows were over head practicing so my shouts were drowned out. I even shouted to them to pull me up. Around fifteen minutes had passed I was cold and my legs were hurting. I was worried about Luna getting stuck as well. She is only very light 5KG but even so I was on the edge she kept running through the middle bit and I did not know what the middle was like. Luna kept running up to me as if to say Come on Mum you have rested long enough. She did not understand I was stuck, but sensed something was wrong as she was crying. I tried again to get out but it was no good as when I pulled up, I sank further in nearly falling forward at one point. I said I better keep still. This was not easy as so cold and shaking even this seem to make me sink further down.

After  around twenty minutes or more. a man I know came past, I do not know his name though, as like many people on the common.I  told him that I was stuck and he said he would help me. I said be careful as sinking mud. He came from the lake way which as I said was very mucky but I suppose would have bean better way for me as I would not now be now stuck. Any way he tried to help but fell over. His boots filthy and his white dog was black. I told him to stay back as two of us stuck would not be good. After a bit he came back with two planks. He said these might help, again  I told him to be careful as I did not know where the sinking mud began and ended. He was in more of a mess now, his trousers black, his ankle boots covered in thick smelly mud. Poor chap I felt so sorry for him and his poor dog who was just as bad. I do not know where the man went as could not see him. anymore

After a while two more people came from cross o cliff hill way. I shouted I was stuck and they phoned the Fire brigade. He said they were on the way. By now an hour plus had gone past. I hurt and was very cold. Shaking I could feel my legs slipping even further down. Right leg past knee level, left still  below my knee. I tried to keep still but shaking so much it was not easy. 

My legs were so cold and kept going into spasms, trouble was I could not move them. After a bit longer my friend Debbie came along and asked what was going on. I said I was stuck,  Oh no I will come and help. No Debbie don't it's not safe. She took Luna to tell my husband Paul. Luna did not want to go but it was for the best and her safety.   

The firemen arrived eight of them, two of them came down to me. I said be careful as its bad. They quickly realised how bad the ground was as they were sinking too. They used the planks of wood that the man with the dog had found. The one called Russ asked me a lot of questions about my health. I told him it was not the best and what I health conditions I had. Bit later he asked me if I had seizures, I said yes I do. It usually happens with pain. The other fireman was I think, was called Chris, he stood behind me to support me as I was now so cold. I could hardly get my words out.The other firemen brought blankets, a foil one and a red one. These were wrapped around me. Also a dingy was brought to the top. We were in a bit of a dip. Russ told me they had spent the morning cleaning all there kit. I felt bad because he was now so messed up.

RIGHT he said, time to get you out of here. Good I had bean there too long. He had a spade which did not really work, so it was his hands. The mud stunk and was making me feel a bit sick. I was shaking so much, they both kept talking to me. Russ dug till he thought he could get my foot out, the other foot should just follow as not as deep. He said lean back on Chris when I push, you pull I tried but it would not come. The pain was bad even though my legs and feet were numb. He dug some more and tried again this time with a whoosh I was free. I think I was trapped around two hours in all.  He said trust Chris and drop back on to him, at this point I would have trusted anyone. He will guide you into the dingy I did, and the other firemen pulled me up. This hurt my back as they were stones and bits of rubbish on the track. 

At the top the Ambulance laddies were there to treat me. They took my observations and said apart from being cold and fast heart rate I was ok. By now Paul was back with Luna and she was so pleased to see me. I walked to the ambulance around ten past eleven, where they took all my observations again plus blood pressure. Luna was in the Ambulance as well sat on a seat getting a lot of fuss. One of the ladies put her on my knee and Luna gave me a big cuddle. All ok free to go, they said have a quick bath a hot drink and rest for the next few days. I was so pleased to be free. I got home round about eleven thirty, around two and half  hours after I left home. A very big thank you to everyone that helped me.  

At home I had a bath still shaking and cold pain was quite bad too. I put Luna in the same water with Badedas in it rinsed her off then dried her. Paul cleaned my boots. All clothes were washing, plus Luna's coat as well. Luna was tired and slept most of the of day. I hope to see the man that first tried to help me but I do not know his name as I said. Someone on the common will know. Also the ones that rang the fire brigade. A big thank you to Debbie for taking Luna to Paul and looking after her and me.

A few people said if I had my phone with me I could have called for help. Well maybe, but every time I moved I was sinking further down in the mud. As my phone would have bean in my inside pocket I do not think I would have bean able to get it. I got very cold very quick and my hands would have not bean able to hold my phone. This could have disappeared in the mud too. My coat was in the mud at the back. I think it was best I tried to keep as still as possible. Even me shaking and shivering I could feel me sinking further down.

13th

My legs are very tight and keep  going into spasms I still feel cold as well. Luna and I still went on the common for our morning walk. She did not seem any different after the ordeal and was her usual self. But saying that it was more me than her. 

On the common I saw workmen and thought that was quick they are fencing off the mud part. NO they were putting up fence cubes to protect the trees from the horses. Trouble was there was no trees in them just the cube fences five of them.

Paul phoned the council saying something should be done and the area fenced off. They will ring him back. Paul also posted it on Facebook to warn others. One lady and her Daughter, five years old, had got trapped two weeks earlier and two dog walkers pulled them out. My Daughter said one of her friends sons lost his trainers in the mud too. Mary's dog got trapped as well, twice. Not sure if it the same bit as mine was though. If some went across at dusk or night, they could be there till morning. 

14th

Legs are very tight and bruises are appearing on my calves. I still feel a bit cold but this is getting better. On Monday I am meeting a man from the BBC Harry Parkhill- for a walk on the common to show him where it happened and to make people aware of it. You would have thought the council would have done something by now. Gave a report to them, like an accident report the day after it happened.  

16th

Doing my blog got most done and up to date and CHROME CRASHED  and I lost the lot. Had to start again and rewrite it. Legs a lot better but night time still quite stiff. I am taking QUININE to help with the spasms and pain.

 Chinese for tea as we did not have it yesterday. Looking forward to this as our usual one is open again after being closed for I think six weeks. The Chinese was good but IBS playing up a bit.

17th

I met the man from Radio Lincolnshire, Harry Parkhill- to do an interview about my stuck in the mud episode. I said to start with I would not do one. I thought about it and if it helps others I will. I would not want any one else to go through what I went though last week. We met at nine in the morning, about the same temperature when I was stuck last week. 4C today, 3C last week but less windy. He asked me questions and filmed me and Luna. I showed him the spot and said it was drier last week, but it has rained since then. As we were talking Debbie who saw me on the day came past. He interviewed her as well. After the interview we were walking past the mud area, and Harry said what about the horses they could get stuck-- Debbie said they are not that stupid, realising what she had said, we all laughed.

Walking back Harry said he was cold and how cold I must have bean. The interview he said should be on Radio Lincolnshire tomorrow morning, and on Look North six thirty pm tomorrow as well. We said our good byes and I headed home as it was now around eleven. 

Paul brought me some flowers. They are lovely thank you Paul.

18th

A lot of people had seen the article on the television last night or heard the one on the radio. Most asked if I was alright a few made jokes. I can put up with that as most of my life I have had some form of leg pulling. I know when I was in the running club, I would get lost a lot and the other runners would joke about that. Once I got hit by a bus on the high street. I was going past some disabled young ones in wheel chair so gave them a wide berth. Trouble was I slipped off the kerb in front of a bus which knocked me over. My knees were a mess so were my hands. I did not go running that week but when I did, they used to shout in the middle of the park--- BUS COMING GILL-- look out. This went on for a long time. 

In the afternoon Paul and I went shopping for a few bits. I need a lamp for the dinning room and a new steamer which we got, but no lamp. The two I liked were both out of stock.

19th

A nice walk on the common with Luna. Cold to start with then quite warm. Andy from across the road came round, so did Angela, not seen her for a while. 

I am trying to clean up but its not going well with the visits. Never mind it will get done I finished round about five pm or later.  

Jamie  Laing, from Radio 1 is doing a Ultra Marathon thirty miles a day, for five days one hundred and fifty miles in total. He started Monday. He admits he has not really trained too much verified by his wife Sophie. Paddy a running friend, used to say- most of it is in your head not your feet. I have done long runs or races where I have had to talk to myself, and say come on you can do it. So how he will cope with it all is a good question, soon to be answered. He has a lot of support and people running with most of the time.  All the best Jamie you can do it.

20th

Pilates a good session. A lot of the ladies were asking me how I was. I told them I am good now all the extra pain gone. I thanked them for being so caring. My knee has played up more since the mud day. I tried to get through to the Doctors to get an appointment but was too many people in the queue so cut off. I have not spoken to any one to discuss my X-ray report only a simple Text to Paul's phone. 

21st

Having a quiet one today two lots of washing more knitting of hat and mitt sets. Going well this set I am doing is the 10th one. Not a lot of wool left now. When I have done I will take a picture of them all.   

Jamie from radio 1, did complete his Ultra Marathons and raised more than two million pounds for Red Nose Day. He did very well. 

22nd

Much the same as yesterday, more knitting. A friend of mine Debbie, called round, she lives in the street and I have know for around forty years. She brought me some flowers and said how sorry she was about my ordeal last week. Thank you  Debbie.

 Has the Council done anything yet? she asked No I said. Any one could get stuck there like you did with no warning at all. She said, she will write to them or phone them. Putting up a temporary fence would not take them long at all but, it's not bean done, and I do not think it will be either. 

24th

Luna had her hair cut today, usually she does not like her face done but today she was good. Maxine and I thought that's good the rest will be easy. No she did not like her legs touched at all. She squirmed and wriggled a lot so it was very hard for Maxine to cut her, she did her best and Luna looked lovely. Paid Maxine her money and gave her a £5.00 tip. I think she deserved it. Luna looks so small again or as Sadie would say "So Tiny".

26th

Cleaning up down stairs. Bit more knitting of hat sets nearly all the wool gone now.

In town later got a friends Birthday soon so buying her presents. I got her some nice things she does not often treat herself so that's what I am going to do.

28th

Lindsay my Daughter, here in the afternoon plus Jamie-Lee later after school. Lindsay was was telling me about one of our friends who has bean seriously ill in hospital. All the best to you, hope you are soon home, hospitals are not the best places to be but, at times you have to be there.

29th

Took Luna to see my Mum, Dad and Phillip at the crematorium. I took some flowers for Mother's Day. Also some for our past neighbours who are in the cemetery close by. Luna walked well, there and back. We go across the common so she is off the lead most of the time. It's quite a long way about three miles total I would say. Luna is either on or off highly charged up or flat out asleep but not that often. 

31st

A day out at Cleethorpes - Golden wedding anniversary today.

Paul Andrew and Luna plus me went to Cleethorpes for the day. This is the first time Luna has bean to the sea, so what will she think. Looks like a nice day too. We left  around noon it's about an hour there. I thought Luna would settle down and maybe have a sleep in the car. No chance she was up at the window swapping side between Andrew and I. We were both sat in the back with her. 

When we got there we all had a walk on the sand. Again she was looking and investigating every thing. The sea was a long way out so no chance of paddling. Paul and I had fish and chip,  Andrew had curry and chips. They were very good and hot we ate them in the car. Luna had a bit too but was not very keen, she does not eat at dinner just breakfast and tea time. she was quite  happy just sat outside the car watching everything going on. We had a good walk round I think Paul said around three to four miles. A nice day windy but quite warm out of it. On the way back Luna slept for around ten minutes. Soon we were home again cup of tea and a sit down and basket sleep for Luna.

February

 February 1st

Rest day today as bean quite busy the last few days. Of course a bit of knitting. 

Luna seemed a bit strange today after the common walk. She was very unsettled all day and night time. She kept going from her basket to me, then laying on the carpet. Not sure if she hurt some where or what, or bean bitten on the common? By early morning she had settled a lot better and had a good nights sleep. I was so pleased. 

3rd

Luna is ok again now and back to her usual self. I think she might have had a stomach ache as her poo was a bit weird looking. She was Running all over on the common as usual. One happy dog- one happy Mum.

I have starting knitting a pair of gloves with  4ply 100% wool, this is half the thickness of the DK weight I usually use. So its takes a lot longer to do. Andy's Mum gave me the wool last year. These should be really warm gloves. My plan is to knit up all the wool into gloves or mittens, for presents.   

4th

Today I am at the hospital to see about my left wrist. I had a scan last year August 31st. The appointment I should have had in November, to see what was going on with my wrist was cancelled. Hopefully today I will find out what is wrong with it. My wrist got twisted while still in plaster, drying Luna's feet. I broke it in July 2023 tripping over a computer chair base. When the plaster was taken off, I told the Doctor about the twist. I thought they would Xray it, but he said there was no need. I did not agree. He said physio would strength it, and it would be fine. Lets see-- still hurts when I turn my wrist or wave  and is very weak, so eighteen months later it still is not right. He was wrong. 

I saw Doctor Corbin the top man. He said the ligament is quite badly torn and would need treatment or an operation. Other options include an steroid injection in to the ligament. This could have bean done today, but better with Ultrascan while injecting the wrist. More accurate he said, if this fails an operation will be done. At last I have an answer to my pain and weakness. 

I did tell him about my RSD and what happened when I had a steroid injection in my knee- June 19th 2019 after a operation for two Meniscus tears (May 1st 2019. My blood pressure shot up to 210 + over  100 + and stayed there. I felt very strange and the Nurse said I looked terrible. I was very nearly admitted to Kings Mill hospital where the injection and operation was done. I had to go to their A and E in a wheelchair with two nurse to see a doctor. My blood pressure went down a bit to 204 over 100 where it stuck again. Touch and go whether I went home today. He let me go after a lot of thinking. He did not want me even walking to the car, it had to be a wheelchair. Go home do nothing at all SIT DOWN. See your own Doctor to morrow, tell him its urgent. The A and E doctor said if I feel very unwell or things just do not feel right, go to Lincoln A and E straight away or call an ambulance.

Even the operation did not go smooth either. I was supposed to have day surgery but stayed in two nights because I had seizures.  

 My own Doctor the next day after the injection, wanted me to go on blood pressure tablets, but I said NO it was alright be for I had the injection, and will be soon again. Blood pressure 188 over 114. I had to have a twenty four hour blood pressure monitor a few days later. My blood pressure was perfect now. The Nurse said it was a lot better than hers.

5th

A very frosty start to the day white over on the common. We did not see any one to talk to today. Luna had fun as usual running around and chasing the birds. We saw the two Canadian geese that settled and raised their chicks a few years ago. 15th May 2022. There has bean a lot of work done mostly dredging,  around the lakes so may be a bit unsettling for them. Hope they do stop and have more chicks here.

Just cleaning up down stairs today, I feel quite achy and tired.

6th

Again a very frosty start to the day. On the common early, as pilates later. Paul took me, a good session a lot of work with the big pilates ball and the small knobby ball. Also the big rollers for our feet. By eleven o'clock the frost had gone, still cold though.

Later we had a lovely surprise Jay-Jay, Molly and Corey James, came to see us, Lindsay too. Bit later, Jamie-Lee was here after school. Molly has a car and now lives about half a hour away. Her last house was damp and mouldy which is why they moved. This was a new house as well. (both rented) The one she is in now is in the country and has a coal fire which they light every day at the moment. There is a garden as well something they did not have in the mouldy house. 

Late night I felt very strange with a piercing pain in my head. I think I had a small seizure. As I allways feel strange after, a far away feeling and head pain off the scale,

7th

I am making John my pilates friend a pair of gloves for his Birthday tomorrow. Paul has got him chocolates as well. I was not happy with the glove I made, it did not look right. So I pulled it all down , made a cake instead. I think he will enjoy that better. I will see him on Sunday as he is busy tomorrow.  

I am knitting my friend Mary a pair of mittens, so she can put her hand warmers in them. She said she can not do it with her gloves. They will not take long as they are childs size. Mary is very small but perfect.

9th

Gave Mary her gloves they fitted lovely.

She was very surprised I made them for her as she had only said a few days ago, she could do with some  mittens. Took John his cake and chocolates he could hardly wait for the cake to be handed over. He said he had a good day yesterday. Happy Birthday John.

Bad headache today I wish my scan would be here soon so we can see if anything is wrong with my neck and lower head. Or is it just RSD. Doctor  Solinas, Ordered this MRI scan on October 2nd 2024 and I have not heard a thing since.

10th 

A rare day in town I got everything I wanted so a good trip. Still having my head aches, plus shooting pain from my neck.

11th

Cleaning up in the morning as not done yesterday. I like to clean down stairs after the weekend.  My friend Lyn will be here after 2pm. My Birthday is the13th. She brought me a card and presents in a bag. I have know Lyn forty six years. We met in hospital while me having Wayne, and Lyn, David, our fist babies. I went on to have a daughter and another son. She did not have any more. She used to live in Dixon street, a few streets away but now lives in  North Hykeham not far, a short bus or bike ride depending on the weather.

12th

Jenny came to see me in the morning she is doing good. Bought me a rose plant,  plus a card with money in for my Birthday. Angela my friend came to see me in the afternoon. She is also well and recovering after her fall last year. She gave me a card with money in. She wanted me to open it. Far too much I said to her. She said I deserved it. My youngest Brother David, and Nephew Garry, who brought me a presents also. Thorntons Chocolates from Garry. My Brother and Sister in laws present bag, to be opened tomorrow. 

13th

Happy Birthday to me 70 years old today. I do not feel this age most of the time, and a lot of people say I do not look it. I think if it was not for the RSD I would look even better. Pain ages you so much. A lovely Birthday. Andrew, Paul, Luna,  Lindsay, Jamie-Lee, Jay-Jay, Molly and Corey James, Tracy too. Mary's Daughter came with a present for me. She said it's payback for the mittens I made her. Mary said, I am always doing and making things for her and this was something she could do for me. Debbie Bumkin also brought me round presents. I had not sean her all week and wondered if she was alright. She said she had bean working a lot which she was pleased about. Three dogs to cater for plus herself. Present from Wayne and Kayleigh plus the Farra cat. Andrew did me a coaster of Luna and made me a chocolate and banana cake very rich and lovely. We had Chinese for tea from another take away as ours usual one is closed for a few weeks. Poor Corey James bumped his head a VERY large bump came up. I gave Molly some Arnica cream and it helped as he stopped crying. The bump got a lot bigger, but he was fine playing and did not seem in pain any more. I let Molly have the rest of the cream to put on later and bedtime. Soon it was time for everyone to go home it's bean a long, day and I am tired and in pain. Bean a wonderful day.

14th

Very tired today so having a rest day just doing some knitting. The hat sets for the Saria children like I did last year. Not as many though as my wrist hurts when doing different stitches for a long time.

17th

A nice sunny day, bean so long since the sun has shone on Lincoln I thought it maybe had gone for a holiday. Cleaning up down stairs. I ache and feel stiff a lot today, hopefully the cleaning will help loosen things up a bit. Bit more knitting of the childrens hat sets. I have now sorted out my presents and put them where they need to go now. I have a good stash of sweets and chocolate.

18th

A windy but warm day wind still a bit cold though. Nice to see the sun again. The weather is warming up over the next few day so that will be good. A lot of washing done and dried.

Luna has bean very active the last few days playing with ball. She pushes it under the cupboard and then cries because she can not get it. I have put my knitting bags there now so it's hard for her to do now.  She then wraps it up in her blanket then can not get it out. She is a very demanding little girl. Some days she is getting two walks but still has loads of energy. After a while its like her battery has run out and she is out for the count for a while any way.

20th

No pilates to day Jo is ill. Poor Jo, get better soon, no pilates next week either as Jo has an appointment. Knitting and a few jobs done.  Ironing all the stuff from yesterday. Tired now sit down, a bit more knitting.

22nd

A windy day today with a bit of sun well to start with any way, rained later. I did one load of washing and it just about dried. Not doing too much today. Sorting my blog out, putting up pictures on about my Birthday and other things. Pictures can take ages to do.

 I am looking after Andy's cat across the road as he is stopping at his parents because he is ill. Hopefuuly he will be back soon.

23rd

Paul is doing the shed ready for the new chest freezer he got six weeks ago, that has stood in our front room. Also giving the shed a clean and paint, moving things like the other upright freezer. The sun has gone again and raining now, rest of the day too weather forecast said. Quite cold on the common, and I did not have my hat on to day. I thought it was a bit warmer than it was. Lucky I have a hood on my coat. If my ears get cold I get bad ear ache. Luna had her coat on so she was warm enough. She runs around all the time so there probably not much chance of her getting cold any way. 

25th

I actually got to see the Doctor today. I told the receptionist that I had a few things to sort out. When I saw the Doctor later that day she told me that I had a twenty minute appointment  a double one that was nice of the receptionist to do that.

 I started with my neck/head scan that was ordered last October by neurology Doctor Solinas. My own Doctor said she would see where it had got to on the list and try to push it forward a bit.

Next was my nose that has had a small sore on it for quite a while, sorted she said I am to see a dermatologist. Right next she said, knee I said, she had a look at my swollen knee and ordered a Xray for the next few days. Next my sore heal something like blister under the skin or like a pressure sore. Sorted with a cushion pad this will protect it a bit. She will have to order it for me.  Eyes next, very dry and can be very sore. Dry because of medication I take. Eye drops given, hope they are better than the over counter ones. B12 next can I have it eight weeks apart instead of twelve, as the last few weeks are like I have a mini flu, and no energy at all. Yes again sorted out. A very good appointment every thing addressed. I even had nearly five minutes left. Thank you very much Doctor Lindsay.

Went to pick up eye drop but not ready as they have to be order. I walked home feeling good That I had got every sorted out.

I helped Paul in the shed with the freezer which fits perfect now.

26th

Cleaning up down stairs today. My friend Debbie came round to order some medication for her dog Monty. A lot cheaper online.  I love helping Debbie out.

I trimmed around Luna's eyes and gave her a good brush. She could so with a haircut but I want to wait till its a bit warmer. She had a couple of knots under her arm pits that were quite hard to comb out. But with patients we did it. Her fur is so thick at the moment and going cury too. A very cute preety girl.

27th

Pilates a good session, the lady near me is quite funny, eighty years old and very flexible. She said to me on one move that she keeps getting her legs mixed up and forgetting when to breathe in and out. I said so long as you breathe, it will be ok. She can be very funny I think I am the one of the youngest ones there at seventy.

Andy is back now so his cat Smudge will be happy. Andy says he feels a lot better now.

My Daughter Lindsay here in the afternoon. Good to see looking well. Jamie-Lee was surprised  she was here as well. She told me today that she has our home number down on her mobile as The Fossiles. I laughed, thought it was very funny. I said you must be a young fossile then. She comes here most days as her school is very close by. Tracy picked them up, and on their way home, she  dropped me off at the chemist to get my eye drops. My heel pads were there as well.

Tried my eye drops, did make my eyes feel quite soothed and wet but its how long they last is the question. The heel cushion which does help, but a bit bulky. I put it in my sock, tricky, but once in it does the job and not move. 

28th

White over everywhere sharp frost cold too but it's going to be nice and sunny later. Very sunny later and warm too up to 12C from -2 over night.

Cleaning up stairs today got it all done which I was surprised as I had a lot of interruptions. All clean and tidy everywhere now. 

Well here we are at the end of the second month of this new year. Not too bad so far. I least I got all my Doctor stuff sorted out. Still pain but that will always be lurking around ready to pounce. All the very best to you all and I hope things are going well for you. Love Gill.
